Frances Reid

Non-Executive Director

Frances has over 40 years of investment experience in developing and developed markets. Most of her work has been in emerging markets, particularly in Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe. Her experience covers a range of financial activities, including corporate finance, private equity, impact investing, asset management, debt restructuring, and development of proprietary financial products. Frances was the Chief Investment Officer and MD for Investment Risk and Analytics at CDC group from 2014-2019. Previously, she served as the Senior Investment and Risk Officer at the Millennium Challenge Corporation, a Senior Policy Adviser to the Undersecretary for International Affairs at the U.S. Treasury, a Program Director at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and an MD at Lehman Brothers Global Asset Management. She has also been a member of the International Advisory Group (Lehman Brothers, Warburg, and Lazard) advising emerging markets countries on debt management and restructuring and foreign direct investment, an international lawyer focusing on cross-border financing transactions and debt restructuring, and a professor of political economy at a major American university. In addition to formal employment, she has been involved throughout her career in advisory work for Native American communities and organizations on economic development and social impact investing.
