Our role

Alongside Root Capital, AgDevCo provide $5m financing to the Afrimac ‘consortium’ for the purchase of macadamia nuts from over 60,000 smallholder farmers. Afrimac was founded in 2012 by expert Mr. Johnson Muhara and operations have expanded rapidly since then to become a significant global player. The consortium includes partnerships with Sagana Nuts, The Village Nut and Jumbo Nut. All processing facilities are located in prime macadamia growing areas in central Kenya and support their local communities fulfilling Afrimac’s mission to bridge the gap between sourcing and producing top quality macadamia.

*Number of smallholder farmers directly attributable to AgDevCo finance.
