SDU role

NEI manufactures premium, sustainably grown, ethically sourced, all-natural flavour ingredients for the international market, with a strong focus on vanilla. The SDU is supporting NEI in increasing the efficiency of extension services through the development of a new business model combined with improved support for smallholders. This will come in the form of an improved, decentralised training programme based on behavioural research on the drivers of productivity, building on the company’s current extension services. NEI, in partnership with the SDU, is also exploring the use and design of financial instruments that are best suited to NEI’s smallholder farmer producers.
