Ovos D’Ouro is an egg farm located in Morrumbene district, in Inhambane province.

AgDevCo invested USD$300k in equity and USD$850k in debt into Transurban Africa. AgDevCo’s investment intends to partially address some of the imminent economic obstacles in Mozambique: high dependency on imports and lack of access to good quality and affordable protein. These funds were used to finance two operations namely Ovos D’Ouro and Comercio Azul, both owned by Transurban Africa.
AgDevCo has supported Transurban with TA for the establishment of a broiler training school, the development of an extension programme to provide improved post-sales customer support, and the development of a data management system for small- and medium-scale poultry farmers.
Ovos D’Ouro is an egg farm located in Morrumbene district, in Inhambane province. Our investment will enable the expansion of the existing operations to become a 50,000 bird operation. The main market is Inhambane province, which now has access to affordable sources of protein.
Comercio Azul is a retail company also located in Inhambane province. It supplies low, middle, and high income earners with affordable quality products. They stock a range of products including frozen and dry goods, eggs, phone credit and drinks. Comercio Azul ensures that a substantial part of his products are procured locally, benefitting local entrepreneurs. AgDevCo’s investment will enable the increase of these retail outlets into new districts of Inhambane Province.
